The contents of “A-Place : Mapping” are created through actions that take place during the project, in site-specific activities (e.g. a workshop or an urban walk in a territory) or through open calls. So far, the following actions have been or are planned to be carried out:
- - #Mappingartworkscontest2021. An open call for works carried out by artists – individually or as part of a collective – to transform public spaces into places. The submission was closed on November 15, 2021.
- - #Mappingplacescontest2021. Participants were invited to share their experiences with the places they live or have lived describing them with a photograph and a text. Submission was closed on June 14, 2021. The works awarded by the jury were:
- - First prize: Tea Tannouri, “Mon Fou d’Amour”
- - Second prize: Marina Papadaki, “The Unknown”
- - Third prize: Taher Abdel-Ghani, “Spirituality descending upon Simplicity”
- - Fourth prizes (4): Nicolàs Albendin, “Saint Mary Chapel Bellvitge”; Gemma Jiménez, "My favourite person"; Lakshmi Rajendran, "Power of Place", and Carla Moya, “From Russia with Love”
- - #AplacemappingLH. Activities carried out in collaboration with schools, cultural organisations and civic associations in the city of L'Hospitalet del Llobregat (Barcelona), aimed at fostering links between residents of different origins, backgrounds and ages and the spaces they inhabit. These activities started in 2019, and continue today.
