Anna Faroqhi & Haim Peretz
Anna Faroqhi & Haim Peretz are artists and authors of experimental and documentary films. Faroqhi has received university training as a singer, as a mathematician and graduated from Hochschule for Film and Television (HFF) Munich She is also an author of graphic novels. Peretz is a trained space engineer, technician and a self-taught filmmaker. The couple has been working together since 2003, both as a team and in individual projects.
Together they create documentary and essay films and design exhibitions. They are interested in participatory forms of art production. Thus, they have conducted a large number of independent artist projects with children, youths and migrants in collaboration with cultural and educational institutions in Germany and abroad, among them Deutsche Guggenheim, Goethe Institute and Bauhaus Archive Berlin.
Faroqhi & Peretz’ works have been presented internationally in art and film programs such as Cefalu Film Festival Italy 2018 (film: Lana’s Story), South Asian Biennial, India 2017 (film: Lichtenberg Cleans Up) or Istambul Architecture Festival 2018 (film: Bauhaus Windows).
Their recent documentary short A Mask for Everyone (2020) has been presented at Film Without Borders Festival Bad Saarow, at Health Defenders Festival, Iran, The Hosaic Institute New York/Los Angeles and was awarded prizes at Filmmaker Festival Amsterdam and A Confined Urban Vision International Short Movie.
Honorable Mention Award for the film "A Mask For Everyone / Masken für alle" in "A Confined Urban Vision" competition.
