Renovation of the green infrastructure

The renovation of the green infrastructure, as outlined in the cooperation pact signed with the Municipality of Bologna, aimed to comprehensively redesign the green space. The municipality requested the preservation and pruning of existing trees where necessary, and the reorganization of the space according to the approved design proposal. A first part of the interventions was implemented even with certain difficulties, since heavy rains persisted until March 2023.

In May and June, Bologna and the Emilia Romagna region faced severe flooding, necessitating emergency measures and temporarily halting all ongoing activities.

In June 2023, City Space Architecture started a collaboration with Vivai Bergonzini, a landscape gardening firm, to develop a design proposal that could encompass different species and address the biodiversity aspect of the project. The municipality accepted the proposal, and it was subsequently implemented.
