One of the important parts of A-Sound Place project is working on an audio-visual collection that could represent the sounds of a neighbourhood, in this case Mouraria. Thus, developing and applying creative placemaking practices, creating cross-disciplinary learning spaces, and using the potential of digital technologies.
Several students from Artistic Studies Doctoral Course and Communication Studies Course (Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities | NOVA University of Lisbon) went on a series of walks through Mouraria neighbourhood trying to capture the "living space".
NOVA's academic community and some of its students, represented here by Irina Rosa, played an important role in carrying out some activities within the scope of the “A PLACE” Project. The video “Tasty Flavours” was the contribution of the Lisbon team to “A Delicious Place” in Nicosia. In this video, Irina Rosa describes her journey through the Mouraria neighborhood and surrounding streets, highlighting, in her report, her perception of this space. The video was made from the same working space for “A Sound Place”, and was also a prospection of that place from the point of view of its colours, experiences and smells, having as reference an interview with a Mozambican emigrant who lives and works in the space of Martim Moniz, and who embodies a success story from the point of view of integration.
